HELP SUPPORT HOPE DENTAL’S CAMPAIGN TO BUILD OUR NEW CLINIC!
After 52 years of serving lower-income people as a part of Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities, Hope Dental has now become its own nonprofit organization ready to provide quality dental care to even more people in our region. With this growth, we need a new location that provides easier access for patients, an upgraded infrastructure, and additional space to serve even more families.
You can help us reach the goals of our “New Clinic, New Name, More Smiles” capital campaign so the new space is ready to serve more families in need by January 1, 2018.
Your gift will provide the infrastructure for our programs:
- Free dental care for lower-income families and individuals
- Healthy Smiles Outreach and Education Program
- Give Kids a Smile and St. Paul Dental Connect open treatment events
SERVING A GROWING NEED
According to the Minnesota Department of Health, 12% of Minnesotans do not seek appropriate dental services due to cost each year. Minnesotans of color are particularly likely to forgo adequate care; almost 17% of African-Americans, 24% of Native-Americans and 20% of Hispanics did not seek appropriate dental care and 20% of individuals and families with household incomes below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines did not seek care. In addition to the pain and suffering that accompanies forgoing dental care, this can also lead to problems such as increased absence from work or school, social stigma, or even serious health concerns such as infection or heart disease.
